A proper pub stay!
This was a home from home. We could not have been made to feel more welcome. After a 3.5 day drive from Corfu to walk through the doors of a friendly Great British hostelry was simply the best experience. Spacious accommodation in the Flat, plenty of room to unwind with my two dogs who were a little wound up after the long drive. A good nights sleep and the ability to run off steam in the field opposite, we all left relaxed and chilled. Pub grub was fabulous too! As I couldn’t stay for breakfast , they even went to the trouble of sending me off with a packed lunch! 😋
Sorry but Midas made himself at home! One exhausted pooch!!

We had a good stay. Room food and beer all good. We had to leave before breakfast and were offered takeaway options instead which was appreciated.

Lovely cosy find
After a very busy day ant work, we drove from the midlands and arrived at the Red Lion just before check in closed at 10pm, but unfortunately the chefs had gone home so we’re unable to have a meal. Very kindly the bar staff offered to make us cheese and biscuits. The bar was cosy and warm, and when we got to the bedroom, it was clean and modern decor but still kept traditional and in keeping with the history of the building.

A Timeless Retreat with Modern Comforts
During our stays in October and November 2023, the Red Lion Inn in Broadclyst not only lived up to its historic charm but also exceeded our expectations in terms of service and amenities. Hospitality: The staff at the Red Lion are the epitome of professionalism and accommodation. Each interaction, whether it was during check-in or while dining, was met with genuine warmth and efficiency. Accommodations: The rooms strike a perfect balance between rustic charm and modern cleanliness. We appreciated the attention to detail in maintaining the inn’s historic character while ensuring contemporary comfort. Culinary Delight: Breakfast at the Red Lion is a highlight. Made from locally sourced ingredients, the meals are not only delicious but also beautifully presented. Their commitment to homemade cuisine, from the fish pies to the sticky toffee puddings, adds a personal touch that is rare to find. Setting: Nestled next to a church, with seating on ancient cobbles and a secluded beer garden, the inn offers a picturesque and tranquil setting. The rustic interiors, complete with inglenook fireplaces and exposed beams. In conclusion, the Red Lion Inn is more than just a pub or a place to stay; it’s an experience that combines the allure of historical architecture with the comforts of modern hospitality. Whether it’s for a quiet weekend getaway, a family gathering, or a culinary exploration, the Red Lion in Broadclyst is a choice you won’t regret.

Lovely stop over en route to Cornwall. Historic and picturesque. Comfortable room and wonderfully looked after by Mandy & Millie in the bar at dinner and by Alison (?) who served as good a breakfast as I’ve had. A happy welcoming venue that provided great value and quality.
