Disappointing Stay – Poor Service Overshadowed Our Porto Experience
When visiting a new city, the first impressions often come transport to the accommodation and hotel staff. We took the metro from the airport, so our first real contact in Porto was the hotel front desk — unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience.
The receptionist who greeted us made no effort to welcome us, speaking and acting more like a machine than a person. Sadly, every time we needed assistance during the morning shift, we had to deal with the same unapproachable staff member. Throughout our stay, the overall service was unfriendly and, at times, borderline rude.
Other issues included:
• The Wi-Fi never worked, anywhere in the hotel.
• The breakfast was basic and repetitive, the same every day.
• Our room was not clean upon check-in — there was trash left behind, the floors were dirty, and the curtains were filthy.
• The door kept getting stuck, there was poor lighting, and the TV didn’t work the first night.
On a more positive note, the location is convenient, the beds were comfortable, and we appreciated the free water dispenser at reception. But those few positives were not enough to make up for the lack of care and hospitality.
For the price we paid, this hotel does not offer good value. If I had known the Moov Hotel was just around the corner, I would have stayed there instead. Sadly, our experience at Legendary Hotel negatively impacted our overall impression of Porto.
