Our favorite place in Palm Springs

Another great stay at Caliente Tropics, our hotel of choice when visiting Palm Springs. Friendly, welcoming staff, comfortable clean room and the topper for us every visit, the amazing staff at The Reef tiki bar. They always treat us well, great food and drinks. Special shout out to Richie, Cameron and Trasae (sp?) for the 5 star service. If I was going to give one area for improvement, it would be to install more umbrellas as the PS sun can be brutal. The small number of metal umbrellas at tables don’t cut it. The lounge chairs need them as well.

I would never stay here again.

This place was a dive. I had to get up early, and I couldn't get hot water in the shower. The knob just rotated all over the place. They explained what to do, and it mostly worked the second morning. I had a very bright light outside of my room, with no black out curtains. I didn't get very good sleep either night.

The hotel is okay, but it was between 90 and 100 decrees outside and the pool temperature was way too high. Probably around 90 decrees Fahrenheit. No way to enjoy your time in the pool and cool off a little bit. What a shame, because the pool is big and beautiful and so is all the surrounding. This was the third time this has happened in the near past. I've been going to the Caliente for over 20 years, but it looks like the management can't take care of their crown jewel properly. I'm just glad I didn't book 2 nights. It's Palm Springs, for crying out loud. People want to use the pool.

Cool little spot. The rooms were dated-looking for sure and had a burnt orange/brown carpet I swear was from the 50s, but everything in the room seemed to work and it served its purpose for sure. As for the property- it was really cool. Awesome two restautrants in a single building ajacent to the large pool area, one a Mexican restaurant with an incredible look and vibe and even better food and a large Tequila bar, thebother a carribean-inspired restaurant with a large Rum secetion and sole really inventive (and delicious) drinks. Verry close to downtown are of Palm desert, so many other places to go at night.

Dirty Charm!

Super cute pool area/tiki bar. Very conveniently located and the most reasonably priced spot in the area. The room is a little outdated which is no big deal but it was filthy. Long strands of black hair in several spots and a breathe right nose strip on the carpet. Overall, for the price - it’s a great option & ya can’t be too picky!

The hotel was run down and not as the pictures appear. Will not stay there again. This may sound odd to put in a review, but the towels were not even quality towels. They were cheap towels that did not coordinate with one another. It just did not feel safe nor clean. They have the big tropical birds in the lobby, but some of them were losing their feathers and it just did not seem like it’s with sanitary having the birds there.
