What a treasure! This 16th century building is the perfect combination of antiquity and modern architectural elements, full of character and just gorgeous! If I were an influencer, I could see myself spending all day photographing in the inn. Our room has a view of the valley’s vineyards.
Location is convenient, easy drive off the main road, with plenty of parking at the lot up the street. Call Giulio 15 minutes before your arrival so he can open the gate for you to drop off your luggage at the hotel before parking your car. The check-in desk is at the bar.
We had dinner at the Inn’s artfully decorated restaurant. Had our private corner. Food was delicious. We wanted to eat there the following night but it is closed on Wednesdays.
Everyone at the inn was welcoming and helpful. We had a mad scramble because flight was cancelled. This caused hurried departure to a different flight and delayed arrival. They accommodated our late arrival for dinner and lent us phone charger plugs. Giulio was generous with his time and recommendation of Alba and wineries. His wine cellar is famous.
What I would do the next time we stay here is to pack toothbrush, paste, hair conditioner, lotion, comb, robes and slippers because they don’t provide those. But I got by with provided shampoo/body wash and soap, and already had dental products in my suitcase.
