Hotel overall was average. The beds were comfortable and clean but room had a few things like the vent that needed to be fixed that was broken. I will say though the staff was wonderful though, so nice especially an evening woman staff member with pink hair. Unfortunately I am terrible at remembering names but she was so nice.

Disappointed

The lobby was kept very clean and inviting. Our room smelled mildew-y, the vent fan in the bathroom did not work. My husband looked at the filter on the air conditioning unit and it had not been cleaned/changed in a long while. Breakfast had no fresh fruit (maybe it’s too expensive in Alaska) and the “eggs” weren’t good at all. The pancake machine was great!

First time in Anchorage, Alaska

Location was perfect if planning to use the rail trains and buses. The hotel was clean but it can improve. Customer service was great during breakfast time and front desk.

"Updates..."

So, there was no table and chairs in the room... I jokingly asked do we have to sit on the floor to eat our meals?! They answered you go to the common tables eat. The window on the first floor was blocked with a plastic pcv pipe to hold it shut. The window on the second floor had rigged pin to keep the window shut, because the original latch was broken. The latch on the door was not even there! And so, when you left to the parking, the doors would not close tight so the street people could just walk in. We should have been charged less for all the insecurities...

No silent night

When asked if we had a room preference i specifically said "one away from noise as we have to be up at 2am to get to the airport." The room that backs up to the highway, the train station, construction, and a road that purple apparently sit on and blast music so loud they're subwoofers make the windows rattle wasn't what i had in mind. Don't worry the videos were sent to Wyndham. We did not sleep and our already exhausted children were consistently startled by the noise. The elevator is on its last leg too. You have to call the desk 3+ times before anyone decides to answer. Just overall not a hotel worth ever booking.

Good service, clean but uncomfortable

The shuttle driver, picking us up from the train was very good as well as the one that took us back to the train. Front desk staff was nice, although seemed frazzled. The comfort of our room was poor. It was clean, but there were only two metal chairs in the corner of our room with no table and no other chairs so rather uncomfortable. Very plain. Plus we were put on the lower floor facing the street where a car show was going on with lots of loud cars. Did not get much sleep.

Horrible experience at Hotel and with Hotels.com

This hotel was unclean and not as advertised. Hotels.com has yet to make this right as we had to leave. Aside from everything looking unclean in lobby, elevators, hallways etc, there was a huge stain on the carpet in our room. Blood or ??? YUCK. Hotels.com has not yet backed our complaint and even though we left has still charged us! do not book through them.

Horrible hotel with

The breakfast was sub-par and the same every day. The room, which was listed as sleeping five, only slept four and we were not allowed a rollaway due to fire marshal rules. We had to go purchase an air mattress. The climate control in the room was broken and the room was stuffy. When we arrived we didn’t have wash cloths or enough towels, and had to ask multiple times for them every time we needed fresh towels. The hotel doesn’t appear to have enough wash cloths on hand for the hotel volume. The hotel is in an unsavory part of town, and I felt unsafe walking around on my own. On top of all that, the hotel charged us for the room we’d prepaid for with Hotels.com….without informing me they were charging my incidentals credit card on file. We will not go here again.

One night stay

I had a one night stay at the Wingate by Wyndam. The front desk personnel processed my evening check-in efficiently and suggested a few options for nearby dining.My room was spacious and clean.I did have difficulty with the TV, no guide was provided, and and I never was able to access any programming other than one channel.There was no in-room coffee maker, but the hotel did offer complimentary breakfast which was popular with the guests. The Salmon Creek runs behind the hotel offering a nice walking path and access for salmon fishing/viewing.The hotel is located steps away from the Alaska Railways train depot, convenient for travelers arriving/departing from there.

Friendly staff. Upon entering the room, could’ve been cleaned more. Found a bag of trash stuffed behind a chair and located a bug in the bathroom. Having to put your room on the list for cleaning the night before wasn’t ideal. Breakfast was not kept up with food with the number of people in the dining area.
