Sad

Hotel was in poor shape. They took a comfort inn, painted it, added a good bed, but the rest of the furnishings were pathetic or not there. There was one hassock, no chairs or a table to sit at and a 110v outlet had no cover plate All this for 250 a night. They did have airport and town transportation available. Don't let the by Wyndam hotels fool you, this is at most a comfort inn.

Zero stars do not recommend

Zero stars do not recommend. Our first room we arrived with the door open one bed obviously slept in a dirty. Went back to the front desk and was given a different room. Second room toilet set broken, toilet paper holder broken and shower not cleaned (used wash cloth and shampoo bottle left). But the room had an amazing view of the homeless tent camp on the hill. OMG

Paid , confirmed, no room, disaster!

I had booked and paid for my hotel room and received a confirmation. Yet when I landed in Anchorage and called for the hotel shuttle, I was informed that they had overbooked and they had no rooms. They offered me a room and a sister property which involves me waiting an additional hour for the shuttle on which I finally gave up and took a cab. When I arrived at the sister hotel, the front desk was completely flustered because their hotel room key card system was down and they were unable to issue working keys. Add info to injury. The website is still showing that they have rooms available..

With the remodeling going on some areas needed a quick vacuum However when we arrived for check in the lobby was full of new items in boxes and when we returned from dinner all items were gone and lobby back in order It suited our 1 night stay very well

Will Not Return...Ever

We knew we were in for quite a stay from the moment we entered our room. Although at first sight, the room looked clean, a lingering odor of urine persisted. Other rooms in the hall smelled worse when guests opened their doors. The pool, a major factor in our hotel selection, was not open for the first two days. Afterward, the water was freezing and not safe for swimming. Moreover, it reeked of mold - which was visible surrounding the edges of the pool. Aside from one staff member, all the staff encountered were unfriendly and seemed put out by standard requests (out of toilet paper, needing towels after three days, needing to throw away trash because the trash was never picked up from the single trash bin in the room). The hotel is renovating, which is definitely needed. The furnishings in the room were torn, the leg on the side table was not completely attached anymore, the bathroom shower was spraying water on the wall, which must have been for quite some time because mold was building up, and there was cut out section of wall at the base of where the mold was that was not repaired. The one acceptable feature of the hotel was that the beds were comfortable, despite the legs starting to bend to the side.

Staff are wonderful

The plusses are the staff was super helpful and they have a driver who will shuttle you around town or to/from the airport as needed. The rooms were clean and the breakfast was quite good compared to a lot of hotel fare. The place is old and tired. A bit drab, some broken tiles and peeling wallpaper, etc.

Don’t book

This was absolutely the worst experience I’ve had with Hotels.com booking. We get there, there’s trouble checking us in. We get a room, it’s definitely in need of some TLC, the shower had a steady drip. Tried to just turn it off. Went for a run the next morning, came back ti shower and the shower doesn’t even work! Took a spit bath, checked out told them.. oh you have to pull hard on the shower level… no we tried that and didn’t work… since i booked through a third party, i couldn’t get any kind of a discount or money back!

Call before heading there

We decided to cancel our room and go somewhere else. The property was being refurnished so the whole top floor was closed. We got a king room, but none were avilable. We asked for connecting rooms, they had none. The pool was not in service. None of this was ever communicated to us. BUT the front desk was so nice and she did help us get all charges reversed. She did her job well.

The room they put us in first was stuffy and smelled like cigarettes. Their computer software showed them that they had no other rooms despite rooms still be available on hotels.com and we had to be persistent and ask for a manager to sort out the problem. It was not a great way arrive after a day of travel.
