I decided i'd start with the main issue currently with the hotel. And i saw this first hand. The Sheraton is currently charging $30 extra as an "entertainment fee". Mind you it gives access to two museums (Not the good ones), $15 food credit, and a couple other things. This would be a good deal if there wasn't already so much to do in Chicago. I tried using the credit but items, as expected, were $20+.
My initially arrival the front desk was busy, labor day weekend, i get it. The girl at the front desk said she couldn't find my reservation, i did book through hotels.com but i never have this issue. She struggled for a good 10m insisting i was wrong. I assured her i booked 3 months out to avoid this Labor Day rush. She found it and we were on our merry way.
As for the hotel itself, the river view room is amazing. It was a great experience. The hotel itself is quite large. It's a walking distance away from the magnificent mile and the bean, and has a bus stop right across for faster travel. The gym and pool are kind of out of the way so don't book if that's your main amenities.
