Overbooked through hotel.com
I booked to stay at the Baymont in Louisville, KY on hotels.com 5/9-5/10 .It was a last minute trip & I planned to arrive at 10pm on 5/9.Our trip ended up taking longer & when I realized we weren’t going to arrive until 1am ,I called the hotel to let them know my eta. I was on the phone for about 8-10 minutes & no one answered I called again after selecting different options through the phone tree & the attendant confirmed my reservation & also let me know my arrival time is fine.I got to the hotel around 1:04am, the attendant let me know that they had no rooms left. I let them know I already paid for the room & I had an itenerary number through hotels.com . The attendant said , “Yes,you have an itenerary number, but we have no rooms.” I let the agent know I called earlier & he said , “That wasn’t me that picked up, you spoke with someone else.” There was also a gentleman in front of me in line who was dealing with the same issue. I was tired from the drive & now I had to find a place to stay. This was a last minute bday trip my husband & I planned to go to Kentucky Kingdom. We normally dont take time to celebrate b/c we are always working so this was a big deal for us.We had to find a hotel around 2 am in the morning & everytime I called someone was trying to sell me something.We ended up spending more than double what we planned. I also had the hardest time finding a number for hotels.com , I had to look on the BBB to find anything. Will never use hotels.com again.
