Perfect spot
The location was perfect, easily walkable to all of the major sites. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good, although it was the same every day and included eggs, cereal, breads, meats and cheeses along with a selection of Greek salads, olives, cheese or spinach pies and small sweets. They had a very limited selection of tv channels but I was usually so tired by the end of the day I didn’t have much desire to watch tv. They have an amazing view from the rooftop bar and you can go out on it any time, even if the bar isn’t open. I would take coffee up there in the morning and it was so calm and beautiful. I’m so happy I stayed here.

Bargain hotel
Really hotel and would be happy to stay again. Comfortable bed, great location, got shower, tasty breakfast and the staff were very helpful/friendly. The only issue we had was that the WiFi sometimes was poor.

This is our second visit to Athens and Hotel Plaka. The hotel is located very close to the central square, tons of shopping, eateries, and Parthenon. The hotel has a wonderful rooftop bar and a new restaurant with a fantastic view of the Acropolis and Parthenon. The staff are friendly and extremely welcoming. They have a luggage storage area in case you get there before your room is ready. The Plaka district is a wonderful area with a lot of restaurants, shops, churches, and bustling nightlife. Located right across the street is a TGI Fridays and awesome ice cream shop. A supermarket located across the street and another around the corner are perfectly located for drinks, wine, beer, snacks and the like. Our room had a small fridge which kept our beer and munchies cold. The rooftop patio doesn’t let you take your drinks or snacks up to the roof. The bathrooms are remodeled modern and bedding and towels clean and modern. The hotel has two smaller elevators with one servicing the roof. The hallways seemed a little older and in need of a little updating. Our bed was made perfectly with a heavier comforter on top. I asked the non English speaking housekeeper for another sheet and with my drawing skills finally imparted what I wanted. The breakfast area was well stocked with European breakfast choices and the staff were very attentive and helpful. Scrambled eggs, meats, cheese, croissants, Greek salad, and fresh fruits were abundant. Juice and coffee machines worked well

Great moderately priced accommodations.
Wonderful location for sites, shopping, dinning, transportation as well. Moderately priced, and medium sized older hotel. Rooms were smaller but comfortable and clean. Very helpful staff for watching luggage, directions, and giving recommendations too. Delicious morning complementary breakfast. Incredible views of the Parthenon from the rooftop bar.

The roof top view is incredible. The location of the hotel cannot be beat. Close to everything including the Metro. The staff seemed genuinely interested in helping whenever asked for assistance. May only suggestion is to add umbrellas on the roof top deck as it gets very warm in the direct sunshine.

One Night in Athens
Great location, very helpful front desk , fabulous rooftop bar . We spent just one night here to see the highlights of Athens. It was very good just a few things prevented it being excellent. We were on the 5th floor , however everything was audible from the streets , which went on most of the night., also often from the rooms next door. So we didnt sleep well. They offer some gluten free things at breakfast, I dont know how old they were but they tasted extremely gone off , they were individually wrapped in plastic film I suspect for a long long time. Im also have lactose intolerance but I can like many people have sheep or goats milk products , it would be so helpful to know if the feta cheese and fresh cheese was made from cow or sheep, something easy, cheap and quick to write in front of it at breakfast , would probably help a lot of people as this intolerance is so common.
