I fully understand that, for obvious logistical reasons, hotels typically require check-in from 3:00 PM and check-out by noon. I have previously requested a late check-out and had to pay an extra charge, which I find reasonable. However, I’ve never been asked to pay an additional fee for arriving earlier than 3:00 PM—especially when the room is already ready.
Unfortunately, that’s exactly the unpleasant experience I recently had. I hadn’t even requested an early check-in, yet I was still charged a fee, despite the room being available. Clearly, at Ibis, they seem to have a rather questionable understanding of good business sense.
