The hotel’s location is fantastic — just steps from TD Garden, making it perfect if you’re in town for an event. It’s also an easy walk to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, which was a nice bonus. No onsite parking, but several garages in walking distance.
Check-in was quick through the app, and for those who can’t use it, there were iPads in the lobby for self check-in and a hotel representative assisting. The main floor had several comfortable seating areas and a stylish bar that created a welcoming atmosphere.
Our room was spotless but extremely small. The sink was oddly placed just inside the entrance since there wasn’t space for it in the bathroom. The bathroom door opened inward and hit the toilet, so we had to step into the shower to close it — definitely inconvenient. The shower was large enough for two people, but there wasn’t much space afterward, so we had to dry off in the room.
Everything was controlled by an iPad or the app — from the lights and curtains to the TV. We thought it was cool, but for the less tech-savvy guests there were traditional switches on the wall and a remote in the drawer under the bed. The bed was built into the back of the room, pressed against the window, so the person on the inside had to climb over to get out. It felt cozy, though, and the bed was very comfortable.
Overall, the hotel was clean, modern, and in an unbeatable location, but the room size and layout didn’t quite justify the high price.
