I booked a room at the Wingate for a family trip. Although the staff were friendly, respectful and helpful there were two things that fell a bit short and one was disturbing. The first thing was that when housekeeping was making there rounds in the morning to clean rooms, they didn't even knock to see if we needed anything. So, I went to the front desk and asked if they were going to bring us (my granddaughter and I) fresh towels. The clerk asked if we had our do not disturb sign on the door and I told them no. She then said that she would send someone up. So after we left to run some errands and came back we had clean towels.
The second thing which is why I titled my experience 'A bad accident ' is because upon the day of check out, my granddaughter and I were doing last checks to ensure that we didn't leave anything behind, she said, "I almost stuck myself." I said, "Huh?" That's when she said that there was a needle in the couch and she almost stuck herself. I asked her to show me and she pointed to the corner of the couch. I lifted the seat of the couch and there it was, a syringe with the needle which was bent still attached. I asked her if she was okay and if she was stuck? She said, "No." So, I alerted the housekeeper that was cleaning the floor upon our leaving and showed her after I took the picture. When we got to the desk for check out I also showed them and let them know that I was extremely upset that my granddaughter was very close to being injured.
