Pleasant Surprise.
When I arrived at the family farmstead they were not expecting me as they had not received any booking notice from Hotels.com. However they spoke enough English and I could show them my booking information on my phone, and they happily assigned a room to me. The B+B appears to be very new, clean and well kept, in a very quiet rural location 1/2 mile off the highway, in the middle of farm fields and pastures. It was easy to drive to from the Autostrada, and about 10 minutes from downtown Cassino. They have a prominent but tasteful sign marking their driveway - not so common in Italy. Continental breakfast was very nice, with warm croissants and fresh pastries. In addition to giving me a map of Cassino, they loaned me their copy of the tourist guide for the city, which was very useful.
