This was the first Sandals resort my husband and I have ever stayed at. We were looking for a small, relaxed atmosphere to spend a few days for our anniversary, and Sandals Grenada delivered. Stunning property and welcoming, courteous staff. Room was beautiful and clean (with daily housekeeping which is a treat post-pandemic). All room categories are very close to central areas.
We didn’t have a bad meal and we tried almost all the restaurants with the exception of the Italian and Hibachi restaurants (for dinner). Spices and Le Jardinier were our favorites! Le Jardinier also has an amazing breakfast. We only needed reservations for Butch’s and got 7pm on night 3 with no issues. We did the beach dinner and while lovely, mosquitoes swarmed the table and we had to leave early from the biting and them crawling all over our food and drink. Did not find mosquitoes an issue except this incident.
We traveled in the off-season (July) and even then all the beach chairs with umbrellas were reserved by butlers by sunrise. We headed down fairly early (8:30) and the beach was empty, so we had our choice of chairs otherwise. Something to keep in mind when choosing your room level. We did not find this as obvious by the main pools. Even with that minor inconvenience we did not feel the need to have a butler, although it’s a very nice service.
The drinks were ok. We also found the coffee overly weak at the breakfast buffets and opted to pick up espresso from the French cafe instead.
