I found the front desk to be very helpful, and the rooms were a little bigger than many of the other (business) hotels we had stayed at in Japan. However, the surrounding area is essentially the red light district of Shinjuku, and the hotel seems to be giving into that a bit. While not a full on love hotel, they do rent rooms for a rest, but I don't think they advertise that outside of the lobby. Also mind you that the area still feels completely safe, and is probably one of the safest red light district in the world. The rooms were dated quite a bit and the TV had something like 16 channels. VOD was limited to 4 channels that worked more like HBO rather than actually Video On Demand. The area has a lot of restaurants and is right next to the Golden Gai as well. Its a bit of a walk from Shinjuku station (10-15 mins maybe), but is definitely still easy to get to and from. There was pan flute music from the love hotel down the street, but I couldn't hear it from my room, though I could hear it from the hallway. Overall, not a bad hotel and the area isn't bad if you know what you're getting in to, but I'd probably find a different place next time.
