Good budget friendly accommodation
First of all a good location close to Bakurocho railway station just a 2 minute walk. This is a budget friendly accommodation with basic facilities but all you need for sightseeing in Tokyo. Tea and coffee provided and a small kitchen type area. Showers and bathrooms are communal, Japanese style. Staff were very nice and helpful, plenty of information at the hotel and good English is spoken. Overall the place is tired and basic but it’s reflected in the price. If you’re not fussy and just want to get your head down, it’s good.

Cheap but hairy
Even when a hotel is cheap you would wish that the floors weren't full of hairs after the previous guests. And you could expect more than two toilets when it's shared with dozens of other guests. You could also wish that there were two rooms with showers - not one for all genders (called family bathroom (!?!).)

Good value for the money
Although rather basic and tired excellent value for money and staff very friendly. Did have a problem with noise as rooms divided by sliding doors, generally not a problem for us though. Pillow was uncomfortable bean bag but asked for softer pillow and was replaced with western style foam one. Beds were a bit uncomfortable but I did sleep and air-con fine once sorted out how it worked. Had fun with puzzles in lobby.Did not notice any tobacco smell in room. As previous visitor to Japan ideal as knew my way round. May not suit families with children.

Cute/quaint hotel. Good for the price.
Cute little hotel. I didn't pay much money for my two weeks in the hotel. But it was clean and had a Japanese style communal bath/shower room that was a lot of fun to use. the location was very convenient too. Short walk to a train station and within easy walking distance of Akihabara.

Cool, eclectic place to stay
The eclectic, offbeat decor was a big hit with my children. We loved the aquarium and Pokemon posters. A plethora of maps and guidebooks are available in the lobby. I loved the traditional Japanese style room, with futons and leaving your shoes outside. Shared bathrooms/showers, but I loved the hot bath.

Bathroom and bath's a community. The rooms are nonsmoking, but the lobby and wait room is smoking, so in the end it doesn't make much of a difference because 2nd hand smoke seeps into all rooms.

Decent
Decent stay, clean enough, adjustable heater in the room. Good wifi. Hard to find however, leave the subway at stop Nishi-nihombashi at exit B4, turn immediately left, bare right after 50 yards, turn left, continue 80 yards and enter the building and on 5th floor.

A Pleasant Surprise
We didn't expect much from the other reviews, so we were very surprised when we walked into the lobby and found such an interesting place. There is a large table of puzzles, several aquariums, free tea and coffee, lots of tourist info, and lots of rental items. The owners seem very friendly. The facilities are basic but clean and adequate. Our room was Japanese style. Very very simple, and it had a bit of a smell, but the A/C took care of it.

Tokyo experience at a fair price.
If you find it first time, you're doing well! Apart from that it is a good price. Showers and toilets are communal though. Room was decent enough, although narrow . There was only a 1 ft space between the beds! It's clean though and close to the subway and loads of local shops and places to eat.

Hotel neighborhood, condition, service... correspond well to the price. It seems to be a good place for spending a few nights, but less adapted for long stays. The hotel is located on a crossing of 3 subway lines, which allows to travel in Tokyo very easily. Joining Akihabara (for those who are manga/anime/cosplay/computer game fans) and Ginza (for kabuki and shopping) was particularly quick.

Awesome location, more of a hostel or motel.
It was clean and the staff was nice, with a great location (~15 min walk from Akihabara). A train station was just around the corner, it was surrounded by convenience stores. Sadly, it only offers shared bathrooms and it is a smoking hotel. The room that I got stank of cigarette smoke and We needed to seriously air it out and buy an air freshner. The shared bathrooms do not have stall showers, and you will see everyone naked. There is the option of borrowing the family washroom at night for those that do not want to do that, but it is a bit of a hassle. Also, the pillows are bean bag pillows. If you don't mind the smell and sharing bathrooms, it has a great location and it's very cheap.

Convenient location, Extremely dirty place
2 subway stations and 1 Japan Rail station within a few blocks from the hotel. Front desk staffs were kind and nice. Many corners of the room is covered with heavy dust and there were some garbage left under the bed from the previous clients. Neither the room was not cleaned nor sheets were not changed everyday. Unless I remind the cleaning persons, they do the short cuts on regular bases, so that things were left quite filthy and I had to clean them up myself at times. Bath tab had some broken peaces of brownish oozy things floating at times. Room walls were very thin and able to hear every single noise and activities from other rooms and the hallways, such as kids screaming, some neighbors snoring, talking, giggling, watching TV, etc. Sometimes heavy smoke infested all over the hallways and some of those smoke even came into the room when someone was smoking in the lobby, due to the very poor ventilation of the place. This is the good place to stay if you are on budget, a smoker, mostly outside and spending minimum time at the hotel, having no allergy, nose is plugged, can't hear well.

Room was too small, no acoustics on the walls. I had a next door neighbour with kids who who were crying all night, had the door open had to make a request for the door to be closed 3 times.

Nice, cheap, clean accomodation
This hotel has everything for a basic, budget accommodation. Ideal for backpackers. It is very close to about 5 or 6 major train lines, so you can go practically everywhere very fast. It takes only about 30 min to get from the front door of the hotel to central Tokyo.

Great for students
The location is really great, the place is really cheap, the owners don't speak english but they try to communicate and to take care of you. It's on the 5th floor, but is easy to arrive, and is really near to the subway, metro, stations.

Great for backpackers, Middle of Tokyo, good Wifi
Some of the innkeepers hardly spoke English but still did their best to make my stay as comfortable as possible. The conditions were hostel-like, but what can you expect for a steal of a deal in the middle of Tokyo? My room was always clean and everything was quite comfortable. Eastern-style beds, though one of the rooms had a Western-style bed. Free coffee and tea every morning, couldn't complain about that, and the staff made me feel very welcomed.

Smoky and noisy
Our room was just in front of the front desk. So everytimes someone smoked, our room smelled. The last day, a group of Customer came to the hôtel, and started speaking at 11pm aloud, then started again at 7am. If someone use television or snores at night, you'll hear it too.

great location FYI bathrokms
staff was so nice. During the day They have an English speaker which was so helpful. Hotel was clean, older but they really cater to travlers! FYI this is kinda like a motel. The bathrooms are gang showers so not much privacy. Women's have a private stall. Overall very clean and great service. the hotel is In a whole sale clothing district so you can't buy much in that area. Also great access to subways. There is a indian, curry resturants, korean and many noodle shops near by. Also 7-11 near the hotel was the only location I could get money from an ATM from. NO banks in the area accept American cards. Also "hai" means "yes" in Japanese so they say it frequently so don't get thrown off because it sounds like "hi". The hotel has limited space to store baggage so don't expect to store more then 1 per person.

close to subway station
This hotel is a safe and cheap place to sleep. The men's showers are shared in the truest sense of the word - there are no shared private shower stalls; instead, it's just one open shower area with multiple shower taps. Be warned that the free water bottles in the fridge are just re-filled with tap water, which didn't seem like the most sanitary solution to me, and there's no source of tap water, sink or otherwise, which I felt was clean enough to drink from - so if this bothers you, be prepared to bring your own water. Smoking is permitted in a designated part of the common area (as is typical in Japan) so expect a smoky smell throughout your stay. This is a good cheap place to start exploring Tokyo due to its proximity to Bakurocho station, but if you can, don't make this the only place you stay at when in Japan. There are equally cheap but significantly higher quality accommodations in Japan (eg. Nara guesthouse komachi). Good luck on your accommodations search!
