Desperately needs some love
The only thing that saved this place is the staff. They were so helpful and friendly. After the first night I went to the store and bought bed bug spray, sheets, pillow cases, and blankets and had house keeping take theirs back. I got candles to help the major mold smell. It is not a 10 minute walk not even run to the end of the boardwalk, much longer. Thanks to the staff for being so great and making the stay better

We really enjoyed the on-site diner, and the place was very clean. The staff was friendly and very responsive. The room was a little dated, but the oceanfront balcony was fantastic. The AC was cold put not positioned in the room the best.

The pool is open until end of September when we went 2 weeks ago the pool had dirt and leaves in it. All else was great. The cafe was excellent. Front desk srrvice was very helpful

Great old school Ocean City hotel BUT it could use a good scrubbing. Our room was fine but it looked like the window and the phone had not been cleaned in some time. It’s nice to have these older hotels around but please give them the care they need.

Our carpet was very dirty. I dropped crumbs and when I used a wash cloth to pick them up the cloth was black. Carpets need cleaned bad. I had booked through Expedia an Oceanfront room. I called the Sahara to never have anyone pick up the phone. I was told you have to go through a reservation center which I called and requested a first floor room away from the road. Upon check in I was given a third floor ocean view room. When I said we requested first floor I was told I would be upgraded to oceanfront free of charge. I showed her my reservation sheet showing I had booked oceanfront. Some of the better things were: Our air conditioner wouldn't work and they did come and replace it. There were no maids sitting on the steps that you had to try to climb around which was true in past years. I noticed the trash cans on the floors at the steps were always emptied which wasn't happening in past years. The rooms were cleaned better than previous years.

Outdated and uncomfortable.
Stayed here because family members were staying here. I would never stay here again. Beds were lumpy and hard. Bathroom had a wall sink and no shelves. All fixtures were cheap and old. No place to set down small items. No hook on back of door. Carpet looked really old. Dark green color was popular in early 90s. Furniture looked like 1982. To their credit, the bathroom was as clean as it could be given its outdated appearance. The place just looks sad and i couldn't wait to leave. I am used to staying in modern hotels with ammenties so this place was uncomfortable in many ways. Diner associated with it used the be very good, but not good now. Eggs tasted like powdered eggs. It was really awful and really expensive.
