A weekend in Manteo
The location is great just a short walk to the Manteo river front with all the stores and restaurants. We visited the aquarium which we highly recommend. The room was very spacious and had all the amenities you would want. It was very comfortable and nicely decorated.

4/10 Fair

We did not realize there were steps leading up to room. The worst issue was not being able to control thermostat in room, nasty bathroom sink and brown liquid coming up from the floor. We paid over $250.00 a night and should have had much better services and accommodation. No one at site to talk to, all via texts. No written information in room. Bedding was sub-par.

Tropical Storm Ophilia dampened our plans
After making a decision to leave Ocracoke Island following news that tropical storm Ophilia was forecast to hit the Outer Banks, we decided to leave the island and head inland to try and salvage the remainder of our week-long vacation. We settled on Manteo since we wanted to visit the Christmas Store and take in a few other attractions. Unfortunately, the weather continued to deteriorate so we decided to pack up a second time and leave for home. We were literally in the Cameron House Inn room for about two hours total. With that being said, Shelley, who greeted us outside and escorted us to our room was kind, personable, helpful and gracious. We enjoyed talking with her. The room was decorated beautifully and everything was super clean and tidy. There were plenty of towels and everything else we needed. The location is spectacular and right in the waterfront area. We could literally walk to everything. I would highly recommend the Cameron House Inn if you're in the area. And, we will likely try to stay here again when we return during a future trip. Hopefully, the weather will be better!

We had a couple of minor issues which were immediately attended to by the innkeepers which resulted in a perfect, comfortable stay. We would definitely stay again and would certainly recommend the Cameron House as THE place to stay in Manteo.

Delightful!
The hosts were incredibly welcoming and accommodating. I stayed in the Sandpiper suite which included a private screened in porch with a fireplace ready to use if needed. The room was wonderful and overall a great stay that I would gladly stay again at if in the area!

Fishing weekend
My husband and I stayed here for a weekend so we could do a full day fishing charter nearby. The host was so friendly and accommodating. The night got a little chilly and we couldn’t get the heat to function but they came right over and resolved it immediately even late on Friday night! Comfortable beds and cozy fireplace downstairs which we loved. Will definitely stay here again.

2/10 Poor

HORRIBLE. We had the privilege to meet three of host’s family and our story may go in trilogy. 1.Arrived at 3:20pm. A lady greeted us and explained Sandpiper room we would stay.Went up to the room to find out it wasn't cleaned. Messy bed, thrown towels, used cups. We complained. She said sorry and asked us to wait for 45 min. She DIDN'T even go up to the room to check what the room was like. She seems to have no problems with her knee. 2.We came back ~9pm and were parking in the area within the fence. The host came out and asked us to pull our car back and to park on the street. He said they give their grand kids ride to school and the area needed to be cleared, which i figured out next morning a bogus since the position was not in the way of anything. The room was cleaned and the furnitures were good but many things were miserable considering the price. Only big bottles of cheap shampoo & conditioner. Nothing else (no bodywash, lotion..).Very small TV. 3. Next morning (10am) when i knocked the door, a young guy on the street yelled at me, "Excuse me, what do you want?". I said i was trying to return the key. He said i would leave the key anywhere in front of the door. I thought he might be a son but has little thing to do with the management. To my surprise, he suddeny jump into our unit with no excuse and went up and checked the room.OMG! He is also in charge and was behaving like that. He treated us stranger or homeless. Staying in this inn can ruin whole your trip.

Nice room-management issues-ad not accurate
Room was adequate size for four, clean and separate, although attached, from main home. Check in was awkward and not as stated. Room was listed for four occupants. Owner accused me of having 6 people, when I explained there were four and the ad stated “occupancy 4” stated that they usually charge for over 2 and blamed the website. Was not an Inn as there was only the one room and no access granted to the rest of house or yard. As listed “spa services” and “courtyard” which was not true. I will say the location was convenient and the room clean and of a decent size.

A very nice second-floor room
A very nice room reminiscent of a B&B without the breakfast. Second floor room with no elevator. The property was very hard to find as the address given was not the actual address on the property since they’re making some changes. By all means call for accurate directions. A very quaint town within walking distance of the business district.

Great location. Quiet, in walking distance to several Manteo restaurants and shops. Very close to aquarium, the lost colony and ten minutes from nags head. Hosts were very helpful in figuring out places to eat and the check-in/check-out process was painless. Room was spacious and adorable.
