A comfortable historical stay!

A lovely place with an interesting history, super friendly welcome, lovely room and everything we needed. We dined there too and the food was spot on, really tasty, good portions and fairly priced. The only thing I would say is that the room was a little chilly and we couldn’t find controls to change that. However I assumed as it was summertime the heating was off, it just happened to be a rainy chilly May Day! I had a lovely deep bath in the freestanding tub and was soon back to being warm!

Shower was slightly small, and flooding issue causing bowing of the floor in the food area. Rissotto was amazing and the staff could not be faulted

Perfect for a one night stay

One night stay with two friends. All of us were very happy with our rooms. Evening meal was good and staff and hotel owner were all very friendly. Breakfast was good too.

Beautiful room

Our room was very characterful with lovely old floorboards and nice padded chairs. Super king sized bed (very comfortable). Nice selection of drinks with specialised fruit teas and hot chocolate provided in the room. Overall the accommodation is very spacious and full of period charm. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. The Hotel is well placed for days out to Powis Castle, lake Vyrnwy, Barmouth and many local RSPB reserves. I recommend the vegan curry.
