Pros: Service in this property was amazing. Very friendly, incredibly helpful (offering an additional heater). Cost was pretty low. Location was good to get to the city easily.
Cons: Villas are very outdated (caretaker mentioned they are undergoing Renos soon), they need deep cleaning- the lounge was filthy- we had to use the blanket to cover it. The bed dresses were stained and dirty, all window sills were dirty- the bunks had black residue on the sheets which had fallen from the window sills. The bunks aren’t made (Bottom sheet on bed with top sheet and (dirty) blanket folded for self making. Dishes in cupboard dirty (coffee cups with stains, cutlery dirty etc) the heater is set to not go above 22•c we spoke to management who said it want possible to change and provided us with a blow heater to warm the rooms. This property is not on the lake as stated in description and pics- it is quite a long and arduous walk to the lake (even with taking the ‘easier’ road option- not for elderly or unfit. We were very disappointed as we’d hoped to do kayaking as in pics- that spot is a 2 hour return walk through the National park. You can access baron lake via a walking down road around the side of property but it’s a huge hill and still a very long walk. This property is directly across the road from a very large cemetery. No cafe or food close by except a coffee shop in the cemetery which we didn’t use with children.
Great staff- doable villas- pics should show actual grounds.
