Unhelpful and Unprofessional
I made a reservation and showed up to the hostel and no one was there. There was a sign saying they'd return the next day.
I called hotels.com, and they got a hold of someone.
Staff showed up and checked me in. They turned on the aircon in my room later that night, and left for the night. The aircon wasn't working so I messaged on Facebook messenger and got a reply to turn it off and turn it back on, which I'd already done. I think it was the staff that messaging. There were also a lot of mosquitoes and I couldn't locate the lighter the staff used to light the mosquito coils.
I called hotels.com the next day to try to get a resolution to the aircon and they assured me I'd be taken care of. I then got a message from I guess the owner through Facebook saying they'd happily cancel my reservation if I wanted to go to another more expensive place because I told them about the aircon, and mosquitoes. So then I called hotels.com again, and they were trying to reach the owner but had complications because now the owner wanted to speak to someone who spoke Thai.
The owner was completely unprofessional. The conversation with the staff went much the same; I told the the two people who work there the aircon didn't work and they were not in a problem solving state of mind, though all they had to do was move me to the room upstairs with a working aircon, which they did in the end. Instead they continued to try to make the aircon work in my original room.
