I had an extremely disappointing experience when I booked a stay at this property. After arriving at Nairobi airport, I took an Uber to the location, arriving just around midnight. Upon arrival, we waited at the gate for approximately 15 minutes before a man came out. He appeared either upset or as though he had been woken up, and immediately demanded to know if the reservation had been paid. I showed him proof of payment through the Hotels.com app, but he continued to scrutinize it, seemingly unconvinced.
After some time, he told us to wait, locked the gate behind him, and went back inside. We were left waiting outside for what felt like an eternity. At this point, the Uber driver expressed concerns about the safety of the area and suggested we leave. The neighborhood appeared unsafe, it was after midnight, and the property resembled a residential building. Trusting the Uber driver’s judgment, I agreed, and we returned to the airport.
To make matters worse, Hotels.com seems unable to contact the property manager, which raises the question of why this property is even listed on their app. The whole operation seemed highly unprofessional.
