The ryokan was authentic Japanese, including the room and the breakfast. The room had separate bathroom, toilet, and washing basin. The night view from my room was the Kyoto Tower, which was beautiful. The room was comfortable but a little small, may be because of the washing facilities and the balcony. The balcony was superb, one could rest there for an afternoon tea or night snack. Overall, the stay was pleasant; however, it was a little too pricey! Anyway, the experience was worth the price.
By the way, there are so many foreigners staying in this ryokan, I was literally surprised, since the whole breakfast room was filled 90% by foreigners! The foreigners must love it!
The location is more than 1 km from the Kyoto station, so be prepared to walk or take a taxi after you arrive at the Kyoto station. It is not difficult to find it though.
