Never have I had such mixed and polar feelings about a hotel. All of the service, the actual building, and the location gave me extremely good and bad experiences. The Indian lady who came to fetch me was courteous and friendly. The first impression of the room was fantastic - high ceiling, spacious, fully equipped kitchen and tasteful, stylish decor. Location-wise it is smack in the middle of historic Georgetown with easy access to the most delicious food. Seems too good to be true... and it was. Came back after 21:00 when the front desk is unmanned and discovered all the things I didn't hope for. My key card got demagnetized and there was nobody to help. I was finally able to find this gentleman who sat outside (not in uniform). Turns out he was the security guard who managed to get me someone to get me into my room. The service attitude was good, but the scare was too much. Then, I realized the toilet was not cleaned - human excrement in toilet bowl. Wifi is at a speed that it is virtually not functional. The redeeming two points were the hot and stable shower and the very comfy beds. The air conditioner is not cold even when set to the strongest possible setting, so sleeping with the blanket is not an option. Crazily loud music with heavy bass blasts outside somewhere and even with my 3M earplugs I could not block it out. Motorcycles also zoom by very loudly throughout the night. No sleep whatsoever, despite bed being so nice. What a torn experience at such a pretty hotel!
