Stayed for 1 night. Arrived an hour prior to check in but reception desk was closed with note saying to speak to restaurant staff. Lady advised we were early so to come back in an hour. I agreed we were early but just needed to know where the car park was. She returned with manager who was very accommodating, enabling us to park and check in despite room not being quite ready. He showed us the room and we agreed to return when ready. Room was large and comfortable but lacked any form of air con. A portable heater was provided with the cleaning lady advising where additional blankets were as the previous night had been very cold. Only downside was the shower that had no pressure and limited flow. Heater was left on all night in order to keep the room comfortable. Continental breakfast was provided with choice of cereal, coffee and toast. Check out went fine and manager was great in letting us keep the car there until early afternoon. Overall the stay was fine, but the shower let it down.

This was such a lovely experience! Very friendly staff, beautiful vintage feel, clean and well kept! Excellent beer and steak in the bar below, and they even offer a complementary breakfast, we had the muesli which was homemade and delicious! The only room for improvement is that the water pressure in the shower is low.. But aside from that everything was just lovely! Will definitely come back again!

Great location - so easy to see most of Whanganui without getting in a car. Hotel is in a historic building so older but amenities were fine. The restaurant connected to the property is very popular so reservations were required on weekends. Food was pub menu but quite tasty. We would stay here again. Thank you.

The hotel had a lovely homely feel to it. The furnishings were generally of days gone by but that all added to the charm of the property. The staff were all friendly and attentive. The area around was full of interesting features, even on a Sunday evening. The Durie Hill Elevator has to be visited.

We loved the quaint elegance of the Rutland Arms Inn. The restaurant and bar onsite were excellent for dinner and the breakfast prepared for us got our day started. Very comfortable room and friendly staff.

Wirklich schöne, historisch eingerichtete Zimmer, dass es auch ein Pub ist, störte nicht. Einfacher Zugang von der Rückseite mit Parkplätzen direkt zum Zimmer.

Niedliches kleines Hotel aus der Gründerzeit ca. von 1880. Sehr sauber, modernes Bad. In der Innenstadt gelegen. Das Besondere war der zum Hotel gehörende Pub. Da gibt es Rippchen und Burger zu wirklich fairen Preisen und jede Menge Draft-Bier aus Neuseeland. Very British aber nicht altmodisch eingerichtet.

Property was surprising quiet. Was worried being above a pub but it wasn't an issue. Is centrally located, easy walk to most attractions.
