Street sign was give away. Main entrance is closed and a single sided side entrance sign points away from anyone turning off highway. When you find the entrance, the search for Reception commences (no signs).
Room has only one small chair, so sit on bed to watch TV. No desk. No cupboard or shelves. Three temporary(?)hanging hooks for clothes, one of which fell down with weight of one shirt and pair of trousers. Bathroom is gloomy, needs twice as much light and no exhaust fan.
Only window opening is behind fixed curtain. All pillows are extremely thick (should provide one thick pair, one thin pair for those who can not sleep on thick pillows). Grounds are unusable due to ongoing construction. Restaurant was ok rather than good - pork slightly overcooked, lemon meringue pie crust so hard it was barely edible. Waiter was enthusiastic and helpful but very overworked. In its favour the room was pleasant and clean and the bed comfortable.
Perhaps in a few months when the renovation is complete it will deserve to be regarded as more than a basic two star motel but management needs to get on top of the detailed needs of travellers.
