One Happy Island
We have been coming to Aruba every year for 26 years and watched them build the Blue and Azure Residences. They are beautiful and have always wanted to stay in one.
We stayed in a 1 bedroom unit with no balcony. I don't remember that part in the description. If it was I missed it. Had I known I would probably chosen a different location. The unit was extremely small but adequate for a week but not much longer. I couldn't imagine being that cramped for the season. The queen bed was comfortable but in a frame set on the floor. I'm sure difficult for older people to get out of.
The views were fantastic. The grounds were very well maintained. The infinity pools were exceptional although chairs were limited for a development of this size. As nice as the pools were is as bad as the hot tub was. It is an aftermarket hot tub like you might purchase from Costco and set on the grounds almost as an afterthought. Like the designers forgot to include it in the original design. In addition it was not working and management seemed unconcerned about its repair.
The unit had window shades that raised and lowered from the top down. When open, it offered beautiful views of the ocean. It also offered views from the pools right into the unit. Offering absolutely no privacy. When closed, you could not see out and it was quite confining.
Overall its a very beautiful development and I give them an A+ for the pool and grounds and a C for most everything else.
