This was my 3rd time staying at QdLR, yet I think this is my first review of the property(?). This is a solid gem in Pinhão. Although about 0.5 km from the town, the location means it is quiet. Wonderful, spacious room, excellent restaurant, and scrumptious breakfast, not to mention great wines and ports from the on-site winery. I had the trip from hell to get here and arrived late. They made certain I had dinner available and had a bottle of wine waiting in my room. They took great care of this weary traveler, which just enamored me even more with the place. Although my stay was barely over 14 hours, I will be back!

If you are traveling to the Douro Valley, you must stop for a night and stay and experience this spectacular place. We started with a fantastic wine and port tasting and tour. Excellent! Then we checked into our fabulous room with an amazing views of the river and town of Pinhao. Dinner at their restaurant was nothing short of spectacular. Service, ambience and taste were all five stars. Th en their listing of a complimentary continental breakfast is misleading. This is like continental breakfast we’ve been offered. It was a full spread of a fresh fruit, eggs, toast, assorted meats, pancakes, yogurt, assortment of fresh cheeses, fresh juice's, full selection of coffees, danishes, breads and on and on. So much and so delicious. I don’t normally take time to write reviews but listen to me when you are considering a night in Pinhao, stay here. Worth every dollar.

Este es uno de los lugares más hermosos que he visto en mi vida. La comida es excelentísima, las personas del restaurante son muy amables, se esfuerzan mucho. En la recepción son más fríos, a excepción de Sara que fue muy, muy atenta y servicial. Recomiendo MUCHO este alojamiento.

Absolutely lovely setting! The room was a nice size and had a lovely outdoor sitting area overlooking the river. The breakfast was very good and the restaurant was attractive. There were however, some things that could be improved. First, the walk to our room was somewhat strenuous with luggage in tow. This would not have been so bad if the staff member walking us to our room slowed down a bit when we started huffing and puffing to keep up. Next, there are not coffee makers in the rooms, just hot pots to boil water - you need to take the coffee pods provided to a local "living room" to make coffee. Information provided about the hours of operation for the wine store and Tim's Terrace were inconsistent across printed material and what we were told at check-in. We had planned to have a light, early dinner at the Terrace but after ordering our drinks, it started to drizzle and the place shut down immediately. This left no dining options other than the restaurant where we ate the night before. We didn't go back because the menu was not that extensive and our waiter was a bit inattentive. All in all, not a terrible experience but the little inconveniences stacked up over our time there.

On a adoré séjourner à cet hôtel!! Quel endroit merveilleux!! C’était calme, super propre, le personnel hyper sympathique. Les restaurants étaient dans mes coups de coeur, tellement délicieux! Le vin…quelle belle découverte!!! Nous avons assisté à la visite du site, profitez de l’apéro sur la terrasse avec une magnifique vue sur le Douro et nous avons finis le journée par un excellent souper à leur restaurant. Nous avons apprécié de pas avoir à conduire, tout se fait à pied. Nous aurions aimé y séjourner plus longtemps!! Nous reviendrons sans hésiter!! Un gros merci à tout votre personnel qui ont contribué à notre beau séjour!!! Merveilleux endroit!!!

Simply beautiful property, accomodation well designed and to a high standard, spotlessly clean. Wonderful views, lovely small swimming pool, gorgeous grounds that are well maintained. Loved the wine tasting experience and the complimentary guide to the winery which was very interesting. Had a lovely meal in the restaurant one night and enjoyed eating out on Tim’s Terrace early evening in the sun with beautiful views of the river. Be mindful that depending on which accomodation booked you may have a bit of a walk from the main reception and parts are quite steep. You are reminded in the booking information it is not a hotel therefore to be aware not all hotel services are available. Notwithstanding it is a fabulous place and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there, highly recommend it.

Pontos positivos: Quarto grande e confortável. Pontos negativos: Check in entre 15 às 18 horas pois após esse horário não tem funcionário na recepção e checkout às 11 da manhã. Cada vez os hotéis estão deixando o check in super tarde e o checkout cedo! Penso que é errado cobrar uma diária pois o hóspede não oportunidade de ficar 24 horas no estabelecimento mesmo se chegar no primeiro horário informado! Café da manhã com pouca variedade. Maître do restaurante Cozinha da Clara não foi receptivo no jantar e agiu de forma grosseira quando questionei sobre os pedidos.
