Just what we need for a one night stay . We were going to a wedding about 30 mins away so it was perfect to spend the night in a hotel the night before . Clean comfortable slightly dated but not a problem. The staff were very pleasant. The breakfast was exactly what we expected and very nice . To wake up with a sea vywas perfect too . All in all a very pleasant stay .

My room was very old fashioned on the ground floor with a sea view through net curtains The single bed was very high and not being used to a single bed I fell out on to the floor banging my head on the bedside table The staff did come and push the beds together

this was my 4th visit this year. However it was disappointing . My single room was tucked away at the back of the hotel with a distance to cover to get there despite being more expensive than my 3 previous visits, where i enjoyed sea views! The food was excellent as usual however i was disappointed to find the breakfast Kippers have been downgraded from a whole fish to two unsatisfactory precooked fillets!!( kippers on the menu was one of the reasons i chose this hotel!_) I will visit again !

Paying a lot for a seafront room with fresh curtains&decor was spoilt by the grubby carpet. En-suite was good&clean but the shower plug hole was slow to drain&needed to be cleared to allow water to drain normally. Breakfast fast&efficient-please don’t over cook fried eggs and bacon. We were in the dining roomgood&early but felt the cooked food had been waiting for hours! And why no croissants?

Perfectly situated for both the town and the beach. Clean, comfortable room. There was great speed and efficiency at breakfast and dinner - well-staffed so no waiting. Had a quiz one evening and great musical entertainment on another.

The hotel has a fantastic location and very convenient for lots of small independent shops. The hotel advertises as pet friendly. I had a dog travelling with me and she was only allowed in the bedroom and none of the public places. Overall it was a very good place for a weekend trip.

This is a lovely ‘old fashioned’ seafront hotel - absolutely wonderful and very quirky. Our room (19) was large with a sort of anti chamber with the tea and coffee table and a Kirby iron press. We had a kingsize bed and a single bed so it must have been a family room. The view from the window was amazing, directly in front of the sea. Some rooms had balconies at the front. Lovely chairs in the window to sit and watch the world go by. Bathroom well appointed with very hot water - shower over the bath. The hotel itself has numerous lounges and we spotted a games room too. There’s a spa but we only stayed one night and no time to check it out. We had B&B booked but actually had dinner in the evening which was ok but a little on the dull side - roast beef served with roast potatoes, boiled potatoes, parsnips, small Yorkshire, pale green cabbage - bland to look at and ditto breakfast - There’s the option of half board which includes an afternoon tea. The staff were all superb from reception to the wonderful and patient waiters in the restaurant - 5* The hotel was full as I think there were some package coach trips but this was not a problem as everyone was catered for very well and things ran like clockwork! We only live 30 minutes away - we had booked for one night to surprise an elderly relative who had booked a weeks holiday there - but in all honestly I would love to stay again just for the experience again!
