I’m disappointed that I spent over $1700 for a 3 night stay here. I’m in Europe about 2 months every year, and we usually are in Rome 3 days or more when we come. I have a usual place that costs half this price but it was fully booked. Other than the location and the friendly host I can’t find much to recommend. Our unit was not clean, most things looked very cheap and in poor shape. Being 500 years old means no elevator, only long steep stairs to get to room. There are not much amenities available. Twice we arranged transportation with them and both times we were stood up. Every day we were shorted towels. The soap was a tiny cheap thing, and a small packet of body wash-neither smelled at all. No phones in room to call anybody. Breakfast was down the street-either a single croissant OR a thin omelette. (Sorry I’m used to breakfast buffets where it’s fun to try all the local specialties). 2 of the bottled water in fridge had already been opened. Tried 2 of the restaurants nearby-Mimi n Coco had the worst lasagna, the sandwich place across street the worst sandwich. I was kind of excited to stay here, but our room looked nothing like the pictures, and the city view was actually a street view. I have no idea why people have rated it so highly. I am seriously shocked at what I got for my money-broken down dirty room, no amenities, part-time staff, and croissant with coffee. I was longing for my well appointed room, rooftop bar and buffet, attentive staff, and $1000 in my pocket.
