The advertisement for the room is false, not what the property actually is. Information about the room is false, it states each room has a bathroom. When we arrived, we were told the bathroom & toilet were shared and the room was just a basic room with bed. We had a look for ourselves. Walking up 2 flights of stairs noticed the carpet was filthy, then around like a maze to our room, the stench in the air was nauseating through the corridor, then into the room which was only a bed and two kitchen chairs. We wondered if the bed had bedbugs. Room smelt terrible, worse than musty. Looking at the share bathroom - it was not clean, and toilet was separate, so we assume that had not been cleaned either. The hotel is NOT in the town centre. It is about 2ks out of town. The following false advertising is from the Royal Exchange website: ""About this property: Royal Exchange Hotel is a 2-star independent property in Burra, South Australia, offering 8 guestrooms. Each room includes a bathroom with shower, providing straightforward accommodation in the town centre."" We decided to give this place a BIG miss, and requested a refund. The female staff member was very nice and offered us a refund immediately. I'm sure she felt our pain as she mentioned that she didn't think the bathroom had been cleaned. Never, never would we recommend this hotel for accommodation to anyone who wants a comfortable night.
