Clean and comfortable room, lovely welcoming pub and the food was great. Breakfast included was fantastic and we ate twice in the restaurant...again the food was great...plenty and very tasty.

A lovely clean and easily accessed hotel. The room had everything I required, a nice comfy bed, tea, coffee and biscuits along with a desk and chair.The bathroom is well spaced out with a wonderful powerful shower . The staff could not have been more pleasant and helpful. I strongly recommend a stay at the King Alfred.

On arrival was told restaurant was closed due to a private function. A telephone call would have been appreciated so we could sort out our meals. Also listed as a hotel and was actually a very loud pub.

This establishment consists of 10 rooms above a pub/restaurant, and I arrived on a day of a large music event, so just getting to the check-in took an effort. The staff were very friendly and check-in was quick. The room was of an OK size for one person, it was clean and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was on the small side, but the shower was surpringly large. When the music finally stopped I actually slept very well. No breakfast buffet, but you're offered a menu and served at the table. The serving was generous and very tasty. It is abt 10-15 minutes to walk to the beach, and about the same to walk into Barrow center.
