Extremely Disappointing and Unacceptable Experience
Despite having a confirmed reservation through Expedia, I was refused accommodation by Hotel Skylawn, Surat, upon arrival. The hotel staff declined to honour my confirmed booking and, most disturbingly, stated that they did not know or recognise Expedia or my reservation.
This was completely unacceptable and caused considerable inconvenience, distress, and disruption to my travel plans. During the confusion and repeated handling of my luggage arising from this situation, I also unfortunately lost my wristwatch, valued at approximately INR 21,000.
A hotel that accepts reservations through a recognised booking platform should honour confirmed bookings or provide a proper and transparent resolution when an issue arises.
I am documenting this review based strictly on my personal experience and the events that occurred. In my view, this incident raises serious concerns regarding the reliability, accountability, and professional standards of the property.
Travellers should exercise caution and independently confirm their reservations directly with the hotel before relying on a booking made through an online travel platform.
