Very Good location!
Hugo’s Rental is very convenient, walkable to most places in Old San Juan. Very close to the port we we had our cruise ship docked…practically walked 12 mins. Easy access even when we checked in late at night. The neg…there was a water drip from the ceiling. Bathroom had little amenities. No TV (but who needs one anyway when on vacation). I felt a little sand on our bed. Space is too small for 2 big and 2 carryon luggages. But I like the place!

Will Definitely Be Back!
The place is absolutely gorgeous inside! We loved all the plants on the 2nd floor and the rooftop access overlooking Plaza Colon is stunning. The owner, Maricruz, was very helpful and responsive. The location was the best part, within walking distance of everywhere in Old San Juan, directly in front of Plaza Colon and Fort San Cristobal. Beautiful! We can’t wait to go back! I highly recommend this hotel!

Stay at Hugo's!
We stayed for just one evening between trips and this was just right. We chose an inside room and even that had a window to the inner garden area. It was a simple but spacious room with very tall ceilings. It has recently been built so everything was new. They gave us recommendations for breakfast lunch and dinner, and held our bags until we were ready to depart from Old San Juan. I would have booked for our return stay but those days were all filled.

Property was very nice, clean, comfortable and safe. Maricruz contacted me with all the info I needed to check in later in the evening and was helpful the next morning holding our luggage while we toured the city. Only trouble we had was with the wifi and phone signal not sure if it was because we were on the ground floor or what but overall everything was good and we would stay again!

Great place
We stayed here for 3 nights as part of a week long trip. First of all communication from staff was great. I recieved a message from staff early offering to store our luggage if needed and again before we checked out which i thought was very kind. Location is great, walking distance to everything including ruins, stores and restaurants. The rooms are spacious, clean and have everything you need including a fridge and nice large shower. Staff was very accomodating in giving us extra items we asked for. The building has a beautiful courtyard with rooms surrounding. Even though you are in the middle of a busy city you wouldn't know it because it is very quiet and peaceful inside. Would stay here again for sure.

Great historic location in Old San Juan
Amazing location in a beautiful historic building in the heart of Old San Juan. Steps away from shopping, bars, and restaurants with a view of Castillo San Cristobal. The walk to the cruise terminal at pier 4 was about 8 minutes. Maricruz, the owner, was so friendly and helpful also. Will definitely stay again!

The host is friendly and helpful and the house is lovely. However, we experience severe water leak several times at night due to rain and an unexpected power outage. While the power outage is out of host’s control, it affects our experience. And the water leak is just above the bed, which greatly affects our sleep at night.
