Absolutely disgraceful. Our room was completely buried in sand after the storm, luggage, belongings, everything coated. We spent hours cleaning them piece by piece. Management’s response? Nothing. No room change. No refund. No compensation whatsoever. This is beyond unacceptable, it’s negligent.

The room seemed very clean, a bit dated, especially the bathroom. The beds were comfortable, there is no duvet, just a sheet to cover yourself with. There was shampoo, conditioner, soap and lotion in the room. A little fridge and some cups, no kettle or coffee machine. There is a very strong ‘no cooking’ rule in the rooms. There is morning coffee in the registration area, as well as hot and cold water. We were able to park right outside our room. There were 3 steps down from the parking lot to the rooms. We got dinner in the saloon right on site - the food was great and the setting was just right after a day in Death Valley. There is a general store opposite (on the other side of the road), it’s very well stocked with many souvenirs , basic food, snacks and drinks, but pretty pricey for souvenirs ($35 for basic t shirts). We went to the sand dunes for sunset - I highly recommend! I would stay here again if I was to come back to Death Valley - the location is great and the hotel had everything we needed (except for a kettle in the room)!

Decent, basic hotel. Room was pretty small. Only one thin blanket for bed. Air conditioner was barely able to keep up in April. TV remote didn’t work. Restaurant was good. Overall, it was OK.

Room was clean, property staff were great. Plenty of parking. Had water stations available. Rooms are small but perfect for the time you’re there. Restaurant staff was a little less friendly. Food was meh. Would call it hostage food. Not many options and what I did have was super dry/over cooked. But, it’s there and beats packing everything in.

The rooms are small with very basic bathrooms. There is a fridge and coffee maker in rooms, but they are small for 4 people. The pool was ok but a bit dirty. Food at the restaurant for breakfast and dinner was nice and sensibly priced considering there is no other choice. Really disappointed that we bought a t shirt in the shop (because they did not have the one we wanted in the right size), found the right one in a other outlet and they refused to swap, literally a couple of minutes later.

Clean spacious rooms. The restaurant was good - the service was excellent, food was good. Overall the whole place exceeded my expectations given that it is so far from any civilization. I can see myself coming back if I were to visit Death Valley again.

Stovepipe Wells is a clean, well-appointed motel in convenient park location near the Mesquite Sand Dunes. We were happy with our stay, The only odd thing is the free coffee service is 9pm-7am, and for the money spent, it would be great if breakfast and coffee were included.
