Aberdeen Charles Hope

The Aberdeen Charles Hope apartments are really good value, there are few minor points that prevent 5 star review, no socket near bed, with bed tight to wall, bathroom extractor fan connected to room fan with long run time made room noisy, no air conditioning. You need to pay attention to emails for check in instructions - taxi driver didn’t recognise name as apartment block is called another name.

2 night stay

The place is fine for a certain clientele. Unfortunately that wasn't me. I found that even with the texts and emails that on arrival it's not personable and as a older woman it was all quite uncomfortable. The message about the room and floor was different to the one on arrival. The key didn't work, but did get sorted, and the communication was confusing. The room was fine but could use a lamp for additional lighting once the main light is switched off. I wouldn't stay again.

Cool place but water temperature also cool

Shower/ bathroom spacious and new but hot water temperature not high enough so shower uncomfortable. Nightshift porter like a robot, no emotions, cold reception on late night check in.

Felt like a student again

This is a unit in a students building, it’s just a room which was ok but a few things to point out. Was a room for two but only 1 chair and an adult high chair. The bright lights are either full on or off…. There is 1 light above the bed so it quite blinding. The view looks into a bird pooped wall through a dirty window. The stay was ok but wouldn’t stay there again…

It was okay

The hotel itself is lovely, and the staff at the front desk also are very helpful. The actual Charles hope staff are not great at all. Bad communication. Difficult to get hold of. The hotel name is not Charles hope, it is the point. There is a laundry room and also a gym and cinema room which was nice. Bed very uncomfortable. Floor in room was dirty.

Sijainti oli todella hyvä, kaikki meidän tarvitsema oli lähellä ja kävelymatkan päässä. Huoneessa oli kuuma koska ilmastointi puuttuu ja ikkunan ollessa kaupungin äänet kuului. Ulko-oven pielessä olisi voinut olla pari koukkua takeille ja laukuille. Hyvä hinta-laatu suhde ja yhteydenpito.

Disappointed

The reception was a reception for the building and not hotel staff. No information in the room and we had to ask a clearly irritated person in the reception for the Wi-Fi code. He told is that information should be in the room and he was not surprised that it was not. The room was small and dark (small window to the back with insight from another room). All light was either on or off, no bed light and no other lights that worked. The room was rather new but already declining due to cheap materials. The outlet from the shower was clogged. No clearing or change of towels.

Bra lokasjon. Litt omstendelig innsjekk og utsjekk. Rommet var ok, men renhold var så som så…. Dusj/toalett var trangt. Seng var OK. Kun en barstol på kjøkkenet og kun en stol - litt dumt når man er 2 på rommet. Du har det du trenger for å forberede et måltid i minikjøkkenet.

Recommended

Main lift was ooo on arrival but reception staff personally escorted me to my room. The door wouldn’t lock but this was swiftly rectified. Apartment was compact but had everything I needed. Comms was via international text messaging that I was not happy to pay for. Lack of parking to drop off baggage was inconvenient. Regardless, I would stay here again and would recommend it.
