The hotel is very well designed and decorated, oozing a colonial-style of elegance. The rooms are also quite spacious. However, the location is a bit further away from all the historical sights and restaurants (about 15 mins walk), which might turn off some people, especially as the weather in Malacca can get quite warm (mid 30s Celsius). The swimming pool was also too small for swimming, more like just a jumbo size bath tub to cool yourself after a long day of walking about in the heat. Breakfast was average, they do both a la carte and buffet, the buffet was mediocre while the a la carte dishes were quite good, though the elegant colonial ambience of the breakfast restaurant more than made up for this (note: you can order as many a la carte as you wish if you have breakfast included in your room price). Overall, I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in Malacca, even though the location is a bit out of the way, the hotel was very beautiful that it was still worth staying in.
