To be fair, this trip has reinforced we are not resort people. The service was impersonal and the crowd was very family oriented. The food was good and the room was fine. I think the main drawback was the dated age of the property and the worn condition of the furniture, towels, beach shoes etc.

Big resort on Western coast
Big resort with restaurant, bar, pool and other facilities. Gardens are scrupulously looked after. Staff are friendly, helpful and efficient. The pool was closed for a few days because guests (or parents of guests) cannot behave properly. The beach is a great plus.

Broken sliding door on ground floor unit.
We stayed one night and the sliding door on our ground floor room had a broken lock. Could not secure valuables or feel safe. The front desk said they would send someone to fix it. The guy brought a thin bamboo stick that he broke on his knee which did not secure the door. Front desk said that since we were only staying one night they would not give us another room, even though we had not used the room. We noticed the broken sliding door as soon as we left called in the room and notified them. Horrible experience.

This place was very disappointing and so overpriced for what we got! The room was so old, uncomfortable and the bathroom would flood. For paying $500 per night you would expect amazing service. Had to pay $50 for wifi... because they had special nights on you couldnt sit indoors for dinner they would tell you to sit outside in the rain with no undercover then when requested room service they charged us $15 per person. Very overpriced for what you get wouldnt recommend it, there were so many nicer hotels we made use of.

Front desk is not friendly at all.. for someone who is the first one to greet the guest I think they can use a little bit more customer facing service training. First impression lasts. Thankfully, the security who helped us show our room was a gentleman and very kind to help answer our questions since front desk reception was not clear about it. Property is beautiful but could use a little updating hopefully in the future.

Poor facilities for price. No water bottles in room. High daily rate and need to pay a ridiculous price for internet that barely works. Worst internet service I can remember and not included in rate. Still in the dark ages for no reason. They have a fibre network at their front door! Breakfast buffet is ridiculous. Worse I seen in decades.

My husband and I stayed at the Edgewater for our honeymoon. It was my first time in Rarotonga and my husband's 3rd. We absolutely loved our room, loved the gardens the birds, the chickens the cats the sound of the sea... Our room had a walk in shower which was perfect with reasonable pressure. The only thing that we didn't like was the price of the restaurant food and lack of cheap lunch options, and communication issues at times as we tried to alert staff of our neighbours smoking in their room which leaked into our room and it wasn't really understood well we had to follow up. Also there was a electricity outage scheduled overnight but we were told very last minute. I need electricity for medical reasons it took quite a few enquiries before they gave us another room for the night so I would be ok. However they were gracious and kind, talked politely and were friendly. Loved the chickens running around it boosted my soul and the dogs too absolutely fantastic atmosphere. Though it rained most of our stay we loved our time there and we want to thank you.
