Stunning location and the marine life were exceptional, several aspects of our experience fell significantly short of expectations, particularly when compared to other high-end resorts.
Upon arrival, despite having booked a package including flights for three adults and a twelve-year-old child, we were told that our party could not be accommodated in one over the water bungalow. We without any grievance immediately gave them a credit card to book another OTW bungalow.
Our dining experience at Otemanu restaurant was disappointing. The service was inattentive and unprofessional; we repeatedly had to flag down servers. Our food was poorly prepared – for instance, a requested well-done steak arrived undercooked and all of the food lacked seasoning. Locating our servers was difficult and the lack of attentive service fell far short of our expectations of a fine dining establishment. On a separate occasion, my husband's request for a children's pizza was initially denied due to a seemingly inaccurate record of our party size, only being resolved after considerable wait time and significant unprofessionalism from the staff. While the General Manager subsequently apologized and generously covered the cost of our second dinner and drinks. It was not enough. The most serious and egregious was 100,000 XPF was stolen from my wallet and my CC info was also stolen as a $6,ooo dollar charge was attempted on my AmEx. I cannot recommend this resort, unfortunately.
