This was our hotel on the front end of a Viking River cruise. We decided to spend a couple extra days in Romania on the front end, visiting Brasov and a couple castles, before returning to Bucharest. The hotel is a serious edifice in downtown Bucharest. The atrium is an over-the-top treatise in marble and stone. I’ve seen lesser staircases in Royal Palaces. Anyhoo, check-in was a breeze, and the receptionist was able to combine my personal reservation with the Viking reservation, so that we didn’t have to switch rooms after one night. A 5th floor room, overlooking the circle in front of the hotel, was big, even by Western standards. Big bathroom with a makeup mirror, tub and shower, and robes, was welcome after some of the smaller places we had recently visited. Nespresso coffee maker, fridge, minibar, and all the little niceties that come with a higher-end room (that you pay dearly for). Two big double beds (I snore) rounded out the room. HVAC kept us nice and cool, and everything functioned as it should (and it should at this price point). A great stay for a couple night. Recommended.
