My husband and I have loved this property for 11 years and have stayed here 5 different times so writing this review really saddens me. The Marriott organization is doing a massive disservice to the patrons of the hotel by making it a complete money grab in a multitude of ways.
They have now implemented fees upon fees upon fees upon fees for EVERYTHING. Resort fees are not a new concept and while we want this resort to thrive, charging $65 tax a day resort fees with absolutely no actual new service is just plain robbery. For this, just increase the room prices. 🙄
Furthermore, the overwhelming amount of "day trip" ticket buyers has destroyed both the private island beach and the once beautiful "dinner on the beach" experience for the paying hotel guests... Especially when cruise ships dock 😭. PLEASE Marriott, revisit this decision! Repeat customers cherish the tranquility of these expediences and "day trip" patrons have turn these things into a complete CIRCUS! 💔
Compounded by the sharp decline in front desk hospitality and reliable housekeeping, this resort has gone from a shining star to a lackluster experience. This reality is tragic because this property and their private island literally felt like heaven on earth for a long time. Now it just feels exploitative to those longing for what once was.😩
