Generally a well-kept property, clean and modern. The receptionist, Joëlle, was exceptionally efficient and friendly, even walking outside in frigid temperatures to indicate to us where the vehicle plug-ins were located.
Unfortunately, the hotel was hosting numerous juvenile hockey teams. The boys, aged between 10 years and 12 years, were boisterous and largely unsupervised in the corridors and throughout the facilities.
In particular, the arrival of about a dozen of them at the swimming pool shortly after 7pm destroyed the enjoyment of the pool by the several families with younger children. Loud and unruly horseplay on the pool deck and in the water, flouting the rules of the small water slide (coming down head first, or two at a time, and creating massive waves) and ‘cannon balling’ forced two families to abandon the facility in disgust.
I complained to Front Desk staff, one of whom visited the pool about ten minutes later. That visit coincided with a pause in the mayhem, although many of the boys were by then in the hot tub, which my wife and young granddaughters vacated. Another half-dozen were resting in the pool. A couple of their mothers had arrived but they informed us that the boys were ‘just having fun’ and chose to say both to the kids. The staff member left and shortly afterwards the mayhem resumed. We could no longer tolerate the hijinks so also left for our room.
We will be sure to check for hockey teams before booking in future!
