Hidden Gem
We loved our stay, the instructions for getting into the room were easy and the room was very well presented. It was a hidden gem for us and the bed was very comfortable. It had all the little ammeneties you would expect and the booklet provided gave us some wonderful suggestions for places to eat with menus as well as local spots to visit.

What a gem. So nice an comfy. We teally enjoyede oure 1 night stay. Everything was in order nd the manegere at the spot were so welcomminge. The small town is so charming and we got what we came for platapus at the obi boardwalk.

Friendly, helpful staff. Very walk-able to the centre of the town. Very comfortable feeling room with nice small touches. If staying in the vicinity again it would be my choice. Only downside is limited parking.

One of the best places we’ve stayed in. Tallowood room. Has all that’s needed for self catering. Good sized shower. Comfortable bed. Maleny Hotel close and walking distance to Main Street for cafes, specialty shops, Woolworths and IGA supermarkets. Recommend Wattle Tree Massage Therapy if in need of a massage. Kyla, the Manager, of The Guesthouse very friendly and helpful.

Staying at The Guesthouse was rather unpleasant. We had a herd of baby elephants staying up stairs who succeeded in waking my wife and I up every morning. It seems they were tasked with moving objects from one room to another repeatedly. There is no sound proofing between down stairs and upstairs which made every foot step a thundering thump in our room. There was also a person who insisted of having conversations outside our window on loudspeaker whenever given the opportunity. We did not wish to be involved in these conversations but unfortunately had no choice. To top things off, my wife and I were have a midday nap and a staff member unlocked and opened the internal door and came barreling in with various cleaning supplies under her arm. After noticing us in various stages of undress and sleep, she vacated but not before giving us a further sense of unease in the property. Maybe this staff member is the same baby elephant from upstairs. On the positive, the room was clean, functional and well equipped. The location suited us well with everything worth seeing in the Maleny township being a short walk. Would not come back to this establishment. Spend the extra $100/night and go stay at one of the 50x cabins on nearby properties.
