We frequently staycation here. Always have great service but front desk staff this time were not super. They seemed to have difficulty getting us checked in (was a fully prepaid reservation) and seemed bored and put out with having to deal with people. Initial room they put us in was not what we had expected (again, we stay here quite frequently and always get a deluxe or executive suite). They did move us but we were tight next to the housekeeping room so it was a bit noisy. Also found a used tooth flosser under the night stand when I moved it to plug in my phone charger.
Staff at the arms (restaurant) was top notch as usual though and is the main reason we go there do often.

Nice classic hotel in downtown Halifax. Had a suite facing a rather drab courtyard but this made the room very quiet. Bed decor amenities in room adequate. Bathroom was small. Had a nice lounge area- room was a suite. Hotel stands right across from a beautiful Victorian park- one of the finest park Ive seen in a while. Also within walking distance of the citadel & general downtown area. Generally all plusses here. Convenient parking next door with easy in- out
