nice location. I had a loft with bed upstairs with kitchen, great for family. Clean and quiet. Not so fancy but has the basics of a good hotel. The elevator rather old and shakes a little when moving up.

Quite, clean and great location

We were upgraded to one of their new suites. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The kitchen area was very clean and if we were staying more than one night I would have had no qualms on leaving food in the refrigerator or preparing snacks in the kitchen space. The king size bed was a reduced motion bed so I felt no movement when by husband made his 2 am trip to the bathroom. The room was also very quiet. We heard no noise from any neighbouring rooms. Location was great, being less than 15 minute walk from downtown, the harbourfront and Fishermans Wharf. We would definitely stay here again.

Nice, old charm but has issues.

Pros: great staff, nice clean facility, good location, good breakfast buffet Cons: on site parking is unsatisfactory. Both lower & upper lots are cramped and one way in, one way out. We requested to move from our assigned spot. (#46). It was right next to a concrete wall and impossible to park a mid size car on it. We were moved to an outside location for the night then the next morning asked to park in a different area to accommodate contractors. Upon checkin we were advised we were upgraded to a loft room. We wish we weren’t. The worst part was when I slipped, barefoot, on apparently new carpeting installed on the steps. I was at the top of the 15 steps and slid down a couple steps before catching the rail to stop my fall. Slightly bruised arm but fortunately nothing more. I feel those steps/ carpet are dangerous especially for children & elderly. I definitely would not haul a suitcase up there so we slept up there but had to do our dressing the lower floor. TV is in a strange spot, right at the bottom of the stairs. Laundry: dryer wasn’t working properly had to run twice to dry a small load of clothes. A minor issue that can be fixed. Puddles of water in refrigerator as if defrosting. Some of these are minor issues, but multiple minor issues add up. To me though, those stairs in the loft are a major issue that needs addressed.

Substandard.

An average to less than average Hotel and experience. The hotel tried twice to force us into a room type we didn’t want. The room is nothing but 2 beds. No usable or comfortable seating in the room. The breakfast was hot and acceptable. This hotel is consistently not what they advertise to be.

Highly disappointing hotel stay

We booked a harbour view room with a balcony, but our room did not have a balcony and the window blinds were broken so we couldn’t even see outside. TV wouldn’t work on arrival so called for service. The TV got fixed but blind was left broken. With no outside space or fresh air, the room was dark and musty. The decor was very dated and nothing like in the website photos. We arrived at the hotel at 10:30 from our cruise ship to leave our luggage. We knew that check-in wasn’t until 4 pm but the front desk were hopeful our room would be available between 1-2 and would call us. We did not receive a call and went back to the hotel just before 4. Our room was still be worked on at this time. When it was ready and we checked in and saw it, we were terribly disappointed and upset. We immediately contacted the front desk and were informed there were no other rooms available. Our room in no way reflected the picture of the room we booked. Visiting the front desk for a third time and showing the staff pictures from your website, we were informed that there is only one room with a balcony in the entire hotel. We considered walking away from our reservation but no availability nearby and we were very weary frustrated travellers at this point. Staff realized our disappointment and upgraded our breakfast.

Great Location, bit dated, breakfast not so good.

The location was great but hotel seems a bit dated in need of some refresh and redecoration. Whilst it was great that breakfast was included, it was basic quality and self service and tables did not get cleaned after the previous diner. We actually did not bother with breakfast on the second day

We had a wonderful stay at the Huntingdon. Great breakfast, friendly staff. Lots of character and just a lovely place. I did drop down a star on comfort because the sofa bed was not great for two people. Because the main bed was in the loft, and up quite a few stairs, my husband and I gave our daughter the loft room and chose to take the hideabed. As I said, it was not very comfortable for 2. But the plusses definitely outweighed that.
