The upgrade was excellent. It's a classic hotel. The breakfast is typical for Germany - overpriced and underwhelming but certainly on par. The staff were delightful. The bar is excellent. It has a charm reminiscent of the 80s but they have embraced something modern. Its a wonderful place to stay.

The neighbourhood was safe. Buses run every three minutes though easy walk to town when the bus was on strike. Two grocery stores near the hotel. Staff were more than accommodating. Buffet breakfast was amazing and staff there were prompt and polite. Once the renos are done it was be amazing. Cheers to the gentleman driving the shuttle service. He was lovely and very prompt.

No Laundry Facilities

Common areas are outdated and worn looking but rooms are quite comfortable and clean. My one complaint is that they list “laundry facilities” as one of their amenities. To me this means I can do my own laundry in machines on site. However, what they actually have is laundry services where you send laundry out to be done and it’s quite expensive.

The staff at our check, Ashwin, was very friendly and helpful.He made us feel very welcome. He answered all of our questions patiently and gave us useful tips gor visiting the city. When we found that yhe WiFi didn't work in our room, he came to the room to verify and explained the reason was due to the renovation work. The room we stayed was newly renovated and had a great view of the city skyline.

There was constant hammer drilling from 10 am to after 5 pm during our 2 day stay. Our rug in the bedroom was dirty (turned my white socks brown). There was a bottle cap outside our bedroom for the entire stay. Our Bathroom door doesnt close unless you slam the door. The elevators are slow to get to our floor. The food in the breakfast room and restaurant was fair. The staff at the front counter were pretty good and were helpful.
