I don't have a problem with the hotel itself. The location was good, amenities were fine, and service was excellent. My issue comes with the extra fees that they add onto the price.
The "guest amenity fee" of $--/night is upfront before booking, although given that it's basically for 4 bottles of water and wi-fi access, it's excessive.
Their website mentions validated parking at a nearby parking garage. What they don't tell you is the validation only knocks off $1 off the regular daily fee.
Through some booking sites (including their own website) they may also try to sneak in an "extra person charge" for a family of 4. I've never encountered that anywhere else. Luckily, booking through Hotels.com avoided that charge.
I don't mind paying good money to stay at a nice hotel, but I prefer to do my business with places that are honest and upfront about their pricing.
