I was in Corpus Christ for 3 days for a state convention and stayed at this La Quinta location. With busy days ahead of us I was looking to get a good night sleep a good breakfast. The beds were super comfortable and got some really good sleep. Breakfast was great, offering a variety of healthy choices as well.

The hotel has a musty, muggy, old building smell when you first come in. Our room was muggy, the carpet felt nasty to walk on. But we think they had just steamed it and they left the air on fan so the carpet had not been able to dry. The mattress cover had stains on it and the bathroom has mold. We did not make it to breakfast but it is a very small food area. We were not informed of the breakfast times either. We stopped for coffee on the way out and the coffee was barely warm. The young lady that checked us in was very nice.

As soon as I walked in the hotel smelled like mold, real musty. I asked the guy at the desk if there had been water damage. He said no, that they had just cleaned. We went up to our rooms and I noticed black mold on the ceiling. Quite a bit of it. The room smelled like mold as well. The next day we left early to go to the beach, when we came back and entered the room it smelled like fresh paint. It was a very strong smell. I looked up and noticed that the mold had been painted over. I went to check my husbands room and his was still the same. So I know that they went in there to paint because I had asked about it. They were clearly trying to hide something. I had my aunt whose health is compromised and is on oxygen with me. Very unprofessional and all for a quick buck.
