Great location, nice big space, modern furnishings. Sometimes it took awhile to get a response to messages but the woman who was on site at times was super helpful when we ran into her. Our balcony door didn’t work properly so we were unable to sit at the cute table and chairs outside. But overall a great spot and would definitely recommend it.

Amazing location. Walkable to nearly everything and felt safe. Hotel is right across from Montastraki station, so somewhat noisy & looks sketchy, but do not let this deter you! Staff was extremely nice and helpful. Rooms were beautiful and beds were comfortable. Spent 2 weeks traveling and this was the most comfortable bed. Would 10/10 recommend.

I've been to Greece many times and most lower priced hotels have extremely hard beds. I spent a little more to ensure I could sleep well when I arrived and I was not disappointed. I was able to see a few sites before settling into a great sleep and waking early to a great breakfast and on my way for the rest of my trip.

I was not given the upgrade as i had requested it, and all my other rooms that i had booked did have an upgrade...
I also had to wait for my room, while the other rooms were given early checkin....
This is after i had already asked them ..

This was our second stay at the Coco-Mat Athens and we love it. It is located in a very nice part of town and is very walkable (if you don't mind hills). Our room was large, particularly the shower, which is HUGE by European standards. As with our last stay, every staff member we met was extremely friendly and helpful. There are great restaurants nearby...I recommend Café Nero and Chef and the Dog.
As a side note, everything I thought I liked in a bed apparently was wrong. I always looked for...

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Athens
Book for the cheapest times: The most budget-friendly time to visit Athens is during January, February, and December, when hotel prices tend to be lower. For those looking to fully appreciate the city's historical landmarks and cultural offerings, a stay of at least 3 to 4 days is recommended. This duration allows visitors to explore a variety of attractions, including museums, historical sites, charming cafes, monuments, and vibrant shopping areas. Travelers can enjoy affordable tours, art exhibits, and dining experiences, ensuring great value for their money while immersing themselves in the rich history and culture of Athens.
Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To discover last-minute deals to Athens on Hotels.com, start by exploring the Dealsopens in new window or Last-Minute Deals sections, where you may find discounted hotel options as your travel date approaches. To stay informed about flash sales and special last-minute promotions, consider enabling email alerts or push notifications from Hotels.com. By using the Smart Shopping tool available in the app, you're more likely to compare hotel prices and amenities easily. This way, if rooms become available or prices drop, you'll be among the first to know, allowing you to book your last-minute getaway efficiently.
Be flexible with dates: Prices can fluctuate depending on factors like the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year, so being flexible with your travel dates may help you find better rates for your stay in Athens. If you're interested in a unique experience, boutique hotels often provide a more personalized touch and can sometimes offer better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we'll inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price seems a bit high, we can suggest alternative dates that might help you find a more economical option.
Consider your location: Hotels near the city center usually tend to be more expensive, but thanks to Athens's excellent public transportation links, you might find a more affordable independent hotel farther out that is still well connected. For those wanting to explore alternative, less crowded neighborhoods or even lesser-known nearby cities, there is often excellent value for money. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
