Genoa Historical Centre
Genoa's Historical Centre invites you to wander through Europe's largest medieval quarter where history whispers from every corner. The labyrinthine caruggi (narrow alleyways) lead to magnificent discoveries like Christopher Columbus's house and the striped Cathedral of San Lorenzo. UNESCO World Heritage sites and Renaissance palaces create an open-air museum where centuries of maritime heritage come alive with every step. Traditional osterie serve mouthwatering farinata and authentic pesto pasta alongside family-run trattorias dishing up fresh seafood. Stay in charming boutique B&Bs housed in converted palazzos with original frescoes. Getting around is best done on foot, though metro stations at De Ferrari and San Giorgio connect you to the wider city when your legs need a break.

Boccadasse
Discover pastel-colored houses surrounding a cobblestone beach, with ice cream shops, restaurants, and art galleries nearby. Visit Saint Anthony of Padua Church and enjoy the panoramic square dedicated to Edoardo Firpo.

Carignano
Carignano offers a refined slice of authentic Genoese life where elegant 19th-century villas and the magnificent dome of Santa Maria Assunta Basilica create a sophisticated residential retreat. Stroll tree-lined streets with ornate balconies and marble facades or visit the Museum of Modern Art housed in the historic Villa Croce. The neighborhood's peaceful atmosphere provides a welcome escape from tourist crowds. Upscale trattorias serve exceptional Ligurian cuisine featuring fresh pesto and focaccia that locals swear by. While accommodations trend toward elegant bed & breakfasts in converted villas, the neighborhood remains well-connected to Genoa's attractions via regular AMT bus service and walkable streets.

Nervi
Discover a former fishing village turned seaside resort, boasting four museums, including the Genoa Gallery of Modern Arts and Wolfsoniana. Stroll along the 2 km Passeggiata Anita Garibaldi walkway, explore the Parchi di Nervi, and shop at fashionable outlets.

Castelletto
Perched high above Genoa, Castelletto rewards explorers with jaw-dropping views of the harbor and terracotta rooftops from its famous Spianata lookout. Art Nouveau villas and elegant palazzos line the peaceful, tree-shaded streets where locals outnumber tourists. Historic castles like Castello d'Albertis offer cultural depth while terraced gardens cascade down the hillsides. The neighborhood's intimate trattorias serve authentic Ligurian specialties like pesto and focaccia with prices reflecting the upscale setting. Getting around means tackling steep cobblestone streets, but the 8-minute funicular ride connects you effortlessly to downtown Genoa.

The revitalized Porto Antico waterfront offers one of Europe's largest aquariums alongside maritime museums that celebrate this proud seafaring republic. "It was perfect: Location Hotel room Hotel staffs Hotel amernities And very beautiful The blind curtains were phenomenal Pianist in the lobby was just a talent. Thank you"
Hotel Continental Genova
"Hôtel très bien tenu et situé à côté de la gare de train pour excursion, personnel très sympathique et serviable."
NH Collection Genova Marina
"Adequate hotel in a great location. Comfy bed. Noisy from other rooms"
B&B HOTEL Genova Principe
"Great location next to the train station for those who are in transit like us. Some of the neighbouring rooms were very noisy and the area around the train station was a little rough, but the hotel served our purposes very well. Breakfast was adequate with a good selection, though hot items were cold, which seems to be the case in all the Italian hotels we have visited."
AC Hotel Genova by Marriott
"The room was clean. The location is not ideal, but there are taxis everywhere. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent, but you had to pay for it. Dinner menu is small. Good hotel overall."
THE SEVEN GENOVA
"The apartment is big, new and very comfortable for a family in old building. Very close to port and center. We stayed 6 nights as a family of 5, had washing machine, it was very helpful. Some issues: First Expedia does not show City Tax correctly it's 4 euro per night per adult and not 2 euro since August 2026. Second issue is apparent cleaning, apartment was only cleaned once during our stay on 4th day, we asked for more several times. I think cleaning at least every second day of stay should be done, overall we recommend. Tip: Carefour Express is just a minute walk, every morning we grab two bagetts from there."
Melia Genova
"Beautiful hotel and friendly staff"
Holiday Inn Genoa City by IHG
"Very nice hotel. Good location for the cruise ships."
Best Western Plus City Hotel
"Great breakfast, clean and good service by the staff"

Additionally, the Smart Shopping feature within the app allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, so if rooms become available or prices drop, you could be among the first to know and book your getaway.
- Be flexible with dates: Prices can fluctuate depending on factors like the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year, so being flexible with your travel dates could help you find more affordable options for your stay in a hotel in Genoa. If you're interested in a distinctive experience, boutique hotels might provide a more personalized touch and potentially better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we’ll inform you if the price for your chosen dates is higher or lower than the average. If it turns out to be on the higher side, we may suggest alternative dates that could lead to a better deal.
- Consider your location: Hotels near the city center usually tend to be more expensive, but thanks to Genoa's outstanding public transportation, you might discover a more affordable independent hotel a bit further out that’s still conveniently connected. For travelers interested in exploring alternative, less crowded neighborhoods or even lesser-known nearby cities, there’s often great value to be found. Opting for these alternative destinations can provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
