Excellent Hotel

This is my second time staying here. Despite the hotel being old, it feels warm and cozy. The atmosphere is pleasant, and the views of the ocean are simply magnificent. The rooms have balconies where you can spend time enjoying the scenery and listening to the sound of the ocean and seagulls. I also discovered the lobby bar on the ground floor, where you can sit on comfortable sofas on the open terrace. Special thanks to the bar staff—they are elegant and welcoming. Such people make any place even more comfortable and inviting.

Heavenly stay
Very pleasant stay overall. Comfortable, stunning views, great customer service. Spa service is amazing quality and attentive. The views from the room were stunning. Whole view of the beach and perfect for a wonderful sunset experience in the balcony.

5 stars only on the paper. In real 3 stars
The only things 5 stars in this hotel is the view and the casino. The staff at the reception was unpleasant,but the staff who serve breakfast and cleaning ladies was smiling and kind The valet who does not offer help with luggage or the car (whether for Check-in or Check-out) but does not hesitate to harass us when we try to park for luggage despite we are hotel guests. When we arrived in the room, there was a basket of fruit and a bottle of wine as a welcome gift while we had specified when booking that we did not want alcohol as a gift but an alternative (request not taken into account). Concerning the mini bar, it was well stocked but no indication of price or explanation during Check-in so we naively thought that they were offered and it is only during Check-out that we are asked to pay for what we have consumed, with of course outrageous prices. I don’t recommend this hotel there are a lot of good hotel in the cost that we tried after this one but they don’t have 5 stars on the paper like this one 😉

Very good hotel
Lovely friendly efficient staff. Public areas very nice and clean. Good choice at breakfast. The room was a bit tired and needed a refurbishment. Balcony door was very heavy and difficult to open. Overall a very good stay.

The hotel offers a stunning ocean view, perfect for a winter stay. The rooms are warm, and you can sleep with the windows open, listening to the sound of the ocean. The room also has a pleasant scent, adding to the comfort. Upon check-in, I noticed the body lotion bottle was more than half empty, indicating it had been used by previous guests. The lotion has a great texture, absorbs quickly, and leaves the skin smooth — a 10 out of 10. The water switch from the tap to the shower was broken, and its handle was detached. Despite multiple attempts, it couldn’t be fixed properly, making it difficult to use the shower. Once I turned it on, I had to leave the water running throughout, increasing consumption despite a sign encouraging water-saving. There was also a broken door stopper near the luggage table, with an exposed sharp pin. I tore my slipper on it, and it could be dangerous if someone steps on it. Breakfast was delicious. Special mention to the chef for the small Portuguese potato pancakes — the best I’ve had! Some dishes were quite salty, which may concern older guests during a longer stay. I must also mention the exceptional prune dessert — I’ll definitely return for it, along with the potato pancakes. Despite these issues, I had a great stay and would return for the views and atmosphere.

Not friendly service. They offered a “free bottle of wine” with the reservation, but charge 3 € to lend a bottle opener !!! Saw the same bottle for 3:99 € at supermarket. Not a comfortable stay. WiFI was very spotty in the room. There are better places in Portimao.

Smukt ældre hotel med bedste beliggenhed.
Det er godt nok et hotel der blev bygget i 1967, og det er lidt slidt slidt hist og pist, MEN for Søren, hvor er det er skønt hotel med en fantastisk beliggenhed og udsigt over stranden med solopgang og solnedgang hver eneste dag. Vi nød det i den grad og man kan sammenligne hotellet med en ældre utroligt velholdt dame. 😊😊👍👍

Amazing Sea View with easy access to the beach.
Very good location. Sea view was amazing. Access to beach front was very convenient. Free parking just 5 minutes away. Considerably spacious room. The rooms look a little dated. The breakfast buffet was just basic and the queue to get a hot drink takes atleast 10-15 minutes. The breakfast area was a lot cramped.

Bad service
Service left a lot to ask for. Except Claudio, who was excellent, all other front office staff fell short of the behaviour and customer service ethics expected of a hotel. They lied, more than once. Failed to take care of the needs. Also, refused an upgrade even when they had availability and hence the obligation to upgrade me.
